Tomorrow is Marathon Monday

We're so excited for tomorrow, Marathon Monday! We're just off the path of legendary Heartbreak Hill and right across the street from the Newton Centre T stop! We'll be open all day, from 9 to 7, if you want to pick up flowers for the finish line! Good luck runners!

The 2013 Philadelphia Flower Show

flowershow-brilliant.png

When I heard this year's Philadelphia Flower Show theme was inspired by Great Britain and called "Brilliant!" I knew I had to make a special trip to check it out - and I wasn't disappointed! Since my personal design is heavily influenced by both traditional English gardens and contemporary floral design in London, I found many sources of inspiration at the show. The theme was on full display in everything from Cotswold village gardens, to an installation bringing London rain to life, to a floral display inspired by Jack the Ripper.

Here are pictures of some of my favorite designs from the show - open them full-screen to read the details and descriptions.

Next years' show will start on March 1st, 2014 and the theme will be "ARTiculture" ... and today (March 13) the Boston Flower Show opens its doors, running through Sunday, March 17 - see the link for details.

Blooming soon...

I've always felt that Union Street in Newton Centre - "Piccadilly Square" as the shopping area is called - is a unique space. With its Victorian T station, row of tempting boutiques and hidden restaurants, I've always been pulled to this street. I can't imagine a better place to be opening Bloomsbury Park Flowers!

These are some of my other favorite places: Regent's Park, Victoria Embankment, Covent Garden, Lincoln's Inn Fields, and, (yes!) Bloomsbury Square. London inspires our unique aesthetic, and I can't wait to introduce to Boston a style of floral design that isn't easily found on this side of the Atlantic! And, we're also excited to display a line of vases like you won't find anywhere else.

But don't just take my word for it - we're opening in time for Spring, and I look forward to seeing you on Union Street!
